"We're not going to take it anymore." Twisted Sister

New Jersey's Twisted Sisters couldn't have said it better when they belted out their seminal power ballad. I remember 11 year old me banging my head, feeling a sense of power. The song captured my feelings of frustration and provided an emotional release. I sang it loud to my oppressors.

When you are a kid, you feel voiceless. Seen and not heard. Riddled with anxiety and confused with the complexity of growing up. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would feel like that again.

The sister's lyrics are as awesome as the power chords that back it.

"We've got the right to choose it There ain't no way we'll lose it This is our life, this is our song

We'll fight the powers that be, just Don't pick our destiny 'cause You don't know us, you don't belong

Oh, you're so condescending Your gall is never ending We don't want nothin', not a thing from you

Your life is trite and jaded Boring and confiscated If that's your best, your best won't do

We're right (yeah) We're free (yeah) We'll fight (yeah) You'll see (yeah)

Just you try and make us."

We need a plan Dan and we need it now. Hospitality can't breathe. There is a campaign brewing that encourages exercising Victorians to take a photo of their local cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs to post with #weneedaplan

I'm getting made up, perming my hair and about to hit the heavy metal pedal. I wanna rock!
